Sail In The Sunny Snow
Sail In The Sunny Snow

It’s no secret that the possibility of this creature existing has fascinated human beings for thousands of years. Mermaid myths weren’t just created for mankind’s entertainment, however. Myths are created as a means of explaining the unexplainable. This is why, before the dawn of modern science and technology, some cultures blamed storms and other destructive natural phenomena on mermaids.
While the existence of mermaids has never been proven, it’s important to remember that some of the strangest sea creaturesthat are widely known and studied today were once unknown. So who knows? Perhaps you’ll be the first person to ever record a live mermaid on video on your next dive.
As many of the stories indicate, cultures around the world have had varying opinions about mermaids. Some mermaids, like Atargatis, were believed to be divine and were revered as such. Other cultures were warier of mermaids, regarding them as crafty tricksters who were always ready to prey on the vulnerable.
Mermaid sightings have been viewed as warnings of forthcoming storms and omens of shipwrecks. And like the sirens of ancient Greek mythology, mermaids were sometimes viewed as predatory creatures who liked dragging people to the water to drown them. Some stories, however, speak of mermaids who granted wishes and provided cures to grave illnesses.
But no matter what the world says, everyone has his/her pains, given below in extract of a poem I wrote on the glory of mermaids...
The movement of my tail,
Gave me a perfect sail,
But every moment I sailed I gave away a wail,
I sorrow at the hidden details,
Filled all pail,
But I gave no one it’s trail,
I am today with a nail,
Hitting and making me -a frail.
All I wanna know
That why is there a no,
To tell others that you really know,
I live in this flow,
Which has it special show,
No one here really mow,
And nothing is here to sow,
You can be hurt by an arrow without any bow,
I want to grow,
But never this slow,
I am waiting for a very glow,
To come out like a Sunny Snow...
